"After going through years of renovation hell with many awful contractors it was a huge relief to finally have Aaron of RJ Renovations recommended to me by a colleague. In turn I have recommended him and also spoken with other folks he's worked for. We all have nothing but good to say about him.
Unlike so many, Aaron is highly competent for a wide range of projects, he's excellent at problem solving, he's entirely reliable and scrupulously honest. He gives me accurate quotes and follows up with a detailed invoice with all receipts and pertinent information attached.
The projects Aaron has done for me over the past five years include installing hardwood flooring throughout the main floor of my house. I had new flooring installed less than ten years ago by a previous contractor and was never satisfied with the results. I did not realize until Aaron took it up that the previous guy had done it improperly and put plastic sheeting over the concrete base of the house, then plywood, then more plastic sheeting resulting in moisture being trapped and growing mold. The plywood sub-flooring was literally black with mold and I had developed asthma during the time the old flooring was down. Aaron found the mold ripped it out and literally saved my health, if not my life.
RJ Renovations have also done an excellent job on such things as installing new front steps, railings and porch. Putting in a new laundry room. Installing a new bay window seat, installing roof heating cables, eaves troughs, garbage disposal, kitchen tiles, insulating the garage, painting the inside and outside of my house and various other repairs and projects.
I am excited for this summer as I am booked in for Aaron and the guys to renovate my main floor bathroom.

"In 2005 Aaron from RJ Renovations was recommended to me by a friend and has been taking care of every repair and renovation I have done on my home since then. The first thing I had them do was remove the old deck and build a big backyard deck with a pergola and lights for my summertime “surf and turf” backyard barbecue parties.
They also took out the old brick fireplace and created a beautiful custom wood fireplace mantle with a black granite tiled surround and a new gas fireplace insert in the living room. They also painted all the walls, crown moldings and trim in the house. Over the years some other projects I had them do was painting all the wood trim, windows and soffits on the outside of my three story house. They installed new wall sconces, track lighting, replaced the rotted wood trim and moldings around the back outside rear windows.
They also replaced the rotten old wooden columns on the front porch and sanded and painted the porch, repaired and replaced the leaking roof shingles and flashing around the third story dormer. All the guys from RJ Renovations are great. Very professional, polite and nice guys. Ever since I started using RJ Renovations I don’t have to worry if I have any repairs or need any upgrades on my home. I know they will get it done right because Aaron is a perfectionist and he is very easy to communicate with. He always makes good suggestions and offers many different options for me before they start every project. I recommended Aaron to all my friends and he has done renovations on all of their homes as well.

"Aaron Riihinen-Juranka and his firm, RJ Renovations, have worked on a remarkably varied number of jobs and projects for me over the years, all of them finished to perfection with speed, efficiency, and good humour. Outdoors, they installed an underground sprinkler system, built a lovely backyard stone patio, and rebuilt my front walkway and steps. Inside, they de-junked the basement which they then refinished (including a new floor) and repainted. This was a big, physically demanding, job (getting rid of mold and mildew was involved), and I was astonished at how quickly it was accomplished and how transformative it has been.
Aaron and his workers have done countless big and small jobs for me: built a floor-to-ceiling custom bookcase, constructed an upper second story deck, replaced taps and light fixtures, painted a cement back porch, installed a garage door. They are a pleasure to have around: they bring enthusiasm and imagination to the job, and always clean up thoroughly.
Aaron's estimates are reasonable and solid, supplies and labour documented in detail.

"Our 1970's High Park condo was in need of some sprucing up, so in the Spring of 2007 over 7 weeks, Aaron and Ryan of RJ Renovations gutted our apartment, redoing kitchen & bathroom plumbing, including replacing two entire bathrooms and a full kitchen. They replaced the carpeting with hardwood and excellent soundproof under-padding, and the kitchen and bathroom floors with terracotta tile. "We have had RJ Renovations complete many renovation projects on our home over the years. They installed hardwood flooring and baseboards on the first floor. "Two of my neighbours down the street had RJ Renovations build new front porches steps and railings for them last year. They did an excellent job, so I had them build a new wooden staircase and install black aluminum railings on my home.
